Patty Brusko has taken over the bookstore now that Matushka Christine has moved. Please feel free to contact/see Patty if there is an item you do not see in the bookcase as she will be able to order it for you. She will man the bookstore after Liturgy for about half an hour each Sunday. If anyone is interested in helping out manning the store in Patty's absence, please let her know. Suggestions for items to be stocked are always welcome.

Self Serve Instructions
Blessed Nativity Fast to all! Our bookstore has continued to offer the parish new items and supply your everyday needs despite the challenges COVID has presented. Because we have moved to a "self-serve" model, it is very important to use the process we have put in place.
1) Please write down the items you purchase on the slip of paper provided and put it in the wooden box no matter if you pay with cash, check or through the website. This is very important for us to keep track of what we currently have and what needs to be ordered.
2) If you write a check (to St. Basil Orthodox Church) please put "bookstore" in the memo line.
3) If you pay online through the "giving" section of www.wilmingtonoca.org, earmark it for "bookstore" in the drop down box. (But remember, we still need a slip of paper to go into the box)
Feel free to make change using the wooden box on the counter. You may also go into the glass case as needed to look at items or prices. Also, if you have questions about anything you see (or don't), Mat. Christine or Pat and Andy Brusko are available to help.
It's been wonderful to keep this going! Thanks for all your help and happy browsing!
Nativity Comes to the Bookstore!
Come see the new icons, devotionals, and gifts available! Plenty of items $5 and under if you need stocking stuffers!
Thanksgiving
This fasting period is the perfect time to reflect and be grateful!
Calling All Reviewers!
Do you see a book in the bookstore that you have read and loved? Take one of the “thought bubbles” and write a brief summary or review of the book. We will display it on the book to help other browsers. Thought bubbles and markers supplied - we just need your thoughts!
St Innocent
St. Innocent of Alaska is a beloved saint of North America. This book about his life is fascinating and adventurous! Come check it out in the bookstore when you have a few minutes to leaf through it. He is a forefather to us American Orthodox Christians!
St. Luke the Surgeon
Adorning the walls of St. Basil’s is St. Luke of Simferopol and Crimea, also known as St. Luke the Surgeon. He is a modern day saint who died in 1961. Now with his book and icon in the bookstore, you can read about his life and ask for his intercessions.
So great a cloud of witnesses
Here are the first of several items that feature the saints on the walls of our temple! The bookstore now has a book on the life of St. Nektarios as well as his icon.
Bookstore Banter
Wish List!
Is there something you'd like to see in the bookstore? A specific icon? A book for which you don't want to pay shipping? More small items under $10? Larger, more expensive icons? Just put a note in the wooden box or email bookstore@wilmingtonoca.org to make suggestions/requests. We may not be able to fulfill all your wishes, but we sure will do our best! If you make your request in the next week, we might be able to get it shipped with our next order!
Mat. Christine as well as Pat and Andy Brusko are your bookstore point people. Please grab one of us if you have a question or need anything. We will be available and eager to help. Of course, feel free to continue to purchase items on your own when you are at church by grabbing what you need (even if it's behind the glass), writing your item and price on a slip of paper and putting it with your payment into the wooden box.
Sneak Peek....

The Bookstore is open!
In the past several months people from our parish have contacted me about purchasing things from our St. Basil Bookstore. As with everything these days, our bookstore was "on hold", and now we are trying to figure out ways to offer items to aid in spiritual attention and devotion while often being physically distant.
If you would like to purchase anything from our bookstore but cannot make it to the building, please let me know! You can email bookstore@wilmingtonoca.org and I will either package up your order and leave it at the church for you, or I will try to deliver it to your home if it's convenient. You can even pay online via our website (please let me know if you do). If you are at a church service and would like to get something, help yourself but please just write the item(s) on a slip of paper and put your payment in the wooden box provided (checks made to St. Basil with "bookstore" on the memo line).
Can't remember what's in the bookstore? Be on the lookout for emails featuring new items and old standards!
God Bless! -Matushka Christine
